Dhiraj Kalita is an alumnus of Jorhat Engineering College, where he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2009. After graduation, he built his professional career in the Oil and Gas construction industry, working as a Senior Piping Engineer in Singapore. Despite having a successful engineering career, Dhiraj always had a deep passion for Mathematics and education. Motivated by this interest, he participated in teacher training programs to develop his skills as an educator. Gradually, he began teaching online classes after his work hours and conducted offline classes on weekends under a local NGO, helping students strengthen their mathematical abilities. Later, he returned to Assam and founded Guwahati Tutorials, an educational startup that provides home tutor services in Guwahati along with Abacus training programs. Under his guidance, more than 100 teachers have received training, and over 50 learning centers are now running across Northeast India. Currently, Dhiraj Kalita serves as the Competent Person and Chief Inspector of Factories under the Government of Assam. Alongside his professional and educational work, his hobbies include writing and traveling.
